My participation in your exhibition Dust Trap is part of my one big and
continuing project of which just a small part was exhibited in Düsseldorf
in 2012. I have been working on this subject for more than 10 years, kind
of working under dust. "The Conservation of Consciousness",
dust is time, the question is how I observe things after wiping off the
dust. What remains and what is lost? What is pushed out of memory or got
a different meaning? There are also the combinations that create manipulations.
These photos are part of the cycle "Amanita Virosa", they belong
to the part on Hans.
Excerpt from an article by the artist on the cycle "Amanita Virosa":
"The second part of "Hans's journey" seeks to uncover the
content of the notes - minimal and factual information about difficult
and dangerous reality. A series of blurry photographs attest to the perilous
part of the journey and stands in contrast to the collection of art postcards.
The viewer is invited to re-examine and identify the location of the "wanderer":
who photographed and documented reality? What is the extent of the artist's
involvement in the role of "consciousness preserver" that directs
consciousness to remember things on the basis of his own interpretation,
alternately observational and critical. The photographs do not point at
existence, it is difficult to define the photographs as objects; they
oscillate between the perception of reality and its interpretation. A
second glance breathes life into the photographs, which expand in space
with the unfolding of details that the viewer manages to elicit from them."
The
photos in different order were presented in Tel Aviv, Berlin and Lodz.
